Welcome to the Standing Committee on Privacy, Digital Technologies, and Consumer Protection

JURISDICTION: Bills relating to data privacy, artificial intelligence, digital and information technologies and systems, and the consumer protection and security of personal information. Bills relating to the Department of Technology and the California Privacy Protection Agency. 

The Committee’s standing hearing time is on Mondays at 3:00 p.m. or upon adjournment of Session.

If you would like your position on a bill to be reflected in our committee analysis, please send us your comments in written form. Position letters should be submitted through the Advocacy Portal. Letters will also be accepted via mail or email at SPDTCP.Committee@sen.ca.govThe Committee's letter deadline is seven days before the hearing at 12 p.m., unless stated otherwise. Letters submitted after the deadline may not be reflected in the analysis. All letters received will be kept as part of the Committee's official legislative records and may be read into the record or reprinted.
